Receiving an Intro Message

Got a message before you've even matched? That's an Intro Message — a short note someone has sent along with their Like to help grab your attention.

Where you'll see Intro Messages

You can come across Intro Messages in two places:

• On a profile card while browsing Discover or Recommended
• In the Intros tab inside your Liked You section

What you'll see in the Intros tab

What you can see in the Intros tab depends on your plan.

If you're on a Basic (Free) plan:

• The sender's profile photo is blurred
• You can see the sender's name, age, and a preview of their Intro Message
• Tapping the profile shows the full Intro Message, but the photo stays blurred
• Tap Upgrade Now to unlock the full profile

If you're on a Premium plan:

• The sender's profile is fully visible
• You can read the full Intro Message straight away

What happens when you Like someone back

If you Like a profile that sent you an Intro Message:

• A match is created straight away
• The Intro Message automatically appears as the first message in your chat

This works the same way for both Basic and Premium users.

Disliking someone who sent you an Intro Message

If you dislike a profile that sent you an Intro Message — from Discover, Recommended, or the Intros tab — their profile will be permanently removed from your Intros tab. This cannot be undone.

Frequently asked questions

Why can I see the message but not the photo? If you're on a Basic (Free) plan, Intro Messages are visible but profile photos remain blurred. Upgrade to Premium to see full profiles.

Why did a profile disappear from my Intros tab? Disliking someone removes them from your Intros tab permanently.

Why isn't the Intro Message showing in my chat? Intro Messages only appear in a chat once a match has been created. If you haven't Liked the sender back yet, the message won't appear in your messages.
