What happens if we remove something from your profile?

Quick answer: Sometimes one photo or one piece of profile text breaks our guidelines even though the rest of your profile is fine. When that happens, we remove just that item — your account stays open.

  • Your account, matches, and messages are unaffected.
  • If you don't have any other photos, replace the photo to appear in Discover and Recommended again.
  • Repeated removals can lead to the account being blocked.

Why we remove content

Our guidelines exist so that everyone on LDS Singles is meeting real people who are here for the same reason. Content we remove includes:

  • Nudity, or sexually explicit or suggestive material.
  • Photos in which a child's face is identifiable.
  • Contact details or social handles, including phone numbers and email addresses.
  • Discriminatory or harassing language.
  • Anything advertising a product or service.
  • Content that looks like a financial scam.

These are the most common reasons, but the list isn't exhaustive. For photos, Why was my photo rejected? covers the full requirements.

What happens to your profile

Your account stays open, and you keep full access to your matches and conversations. If you don't have any other photos, until you replace the removed photo, your profile may not appear in Discover or in other members' Recommended profiles.

Repeated removals can lead to your account being blocked — see Why is my account blocked?.

How to get back to full visibility

  1. Open your profile.
  2. Add a new photo, or rewrite the section that was removed. Step-by-step instructions for web, iOS, and Android are in How do I add, edit, or delete photos? and How do I build or edit my profile?.
  3. New photos are reviewed within 24–48 hours.
