Protect your personal information

• Never share financial information such as bank details or card numbers.

Watch for warning signs

• Their story doesn't add up, or there's always an emergency that requires money.

Meet safely in person

• Meet in a public place for the first few dates and arrange your own transportation.
• Tell a friend or family member where you'll be, and keep your phone charged.
• If anything feels off, you don't owe anyone an explanation — leave.
